Installing VPP from Packages

If you want to use VPP it can be convenient to install the binaries from existing packages. This guide describes how to pull, install and run the VPP packages.

Installing VPP

This section provides directions on how to Install VPP binaries on Ubuntu, Centos, and openSUSE platforms.

Installing on Ubuntu

The following are instructions on how to install VPP on Ubuntu.

• Ubuntu 16.04 - Setup the fd.io Repository
  • Update the OS
  • Point to the Repository
    • VPP latest Release
    • VPP stable/1804 Branch
    • VPP master Branch
• Install the Mandatory Packages
• Install the Optional Packages
• Uninstall the Packages

Installing on Centos

The following are instructions on how to install VPP on Centos.

• Setup the fd.io Repository - Centos 7
  • Update the OS
  • Point to the Repository
    • CentOS NFV SIG Repository
    • Nexus Repository
      • VPP Latest Release
      • VPP Stable Branch
      • VPP Master Branch
• Install VPP RPMs
• Starting VPP
• Uninstall the VPP RPMs

Installing on openSUSE

The following are instructions on how to install VPP on openSUSE.
